Well I’m off to a slow start as this is my first post. But as they say, better late than never! I live by Stanley Park and my apartment looks out onto English Bay. In the spring we have the annual return of the Blue Herons to nest and have babies. But for the first time, I’ve been seeing a Blue Heron roost on a rooftop of an apartment building across the alley. It seems like every time I look out the window, the Blue Heron is sitting on the roof – same spot every day and all day. I’ve decided to name it Barclay. Now when I get up in the morning I look out to see if Barclay is there. One day I saw several other Blue Herons on the same roof and once there was another Blue Heron one building over. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Stay tuned for the Blue Heron chronicles.
We are at it again! Sharon Hapton, Founder of Soup Sisters/Broth Brothers is opening more locations in March 2011 – Victoria, Vancouver and Kelowna. I’m looking forward to cooking at The Dirty Apron which is one of Vancouver’s new cooking schools. The owners also operate Chambar – a great restaurant serving Belgian food. If you are interested in finding out more about Soup Sisters, go to our website at www.soupsisters.org. Maybe I’ll see you there!
I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now. I will be posting on this blog once a week for all of 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.
